REX Assessment

Overview

The REX Assessment is the industry-leading tool for quantifying employees’ work styles, preferences and overall satisfaction.

The Assessment is the first step in giving a voice to the end user while empowering organizations to gain actionable insights and facilitate data-driven decisions to create a work environment that better aligns with employee expectations.

The REX Assessment is a mobile and desktop-friendly survey that takes about 10 minutes to complete.

A user must complete the survey for the results to be recorded. If the user doesn't finish the survey we do not receive any results from that user.

The REX Assessment is made up of 3 components (sections).

  • Workplace Impact - Impact refers to how the overall workplace design influences and affects employees' personal sense of community, pride, satisfaction, and well-being within the workspace.

  • Workplace Activities - Activities refer to the tasks, interactions, and work processes that that are important to an employee’s role and how well the design supports these activities.

  • Physical & Services Features - Features refer to the physical and services offerings of a workspace that are considered crucial for creating an effective work environment and how satisfied are employees with them.

The document outlines the question format for each section and provides examples of the assessed items.

Workplace Impact

This section assesses Workplace Impact, which measures how the overall building and office design impacts personal sense of productivity, pride, etc. There are 11 Workplace impact questions.

Question Format

How much do you agree with the following statement about your workplace?

[Impact statement here]

Then after each statement the user must select an answer from an agreement scale:

  • Agree strongly

  • Agree

  • Agree slightly

  • Neutral

  • Disagree slightly

  • Disagree

  • Disagree strongly

Assessed Items

There are 11 impact Workplace impact questions. Below are example statements:

  • The design of my workplace is important to me

  • My workplace contributes to a sense of community at work

  • I'm proud to bring visitors to my workplace

  • The workplace has a positive impact on my company's environmental sustainability

Workplace Activities

This section assesses which activities are important to employees and how well each is supported. There are 21 Activities across 5 categories.

Question Format

Is the following activity important to your role?

  • User can then select “Yes” or “No”

  • If the users selects “Yes”, then the users is asked a follow up question about how well that activity is supported.

There are 21 Activities grouped into 5 categories. Below are example activities:

Collaboration

  • Informal social interaction

  • Informal, unplanned meetings

Conversations

  • Telephone conversations

  • Business confidential discussions

Formal Meetings

  • Larger group meetings or audience

  • Hosting visitors, clients or customers

Individual Work

  • Reading

  • Individual focused work away from your desk

Other

  • Relaxing or taking a break

Physical & Services Features

This section assesses the features, the physical aspects and services, considered to be an important part of an effective work environment and how satisfied they are with each one. There are 56 Features across 8 categories.
